Spider Bracelet with Magnetic Clasp and Locket
I started with an unmounted Golden Orb spider I ordered off the interwebs. It was treated and plated copper, then a Silcone mold was made from it. Once the mold was shot with wax, I was then able to manipulate it into exactly what I had in mind. The objective was to make the legs move up and down like the car doors of a Delorean. At the bottom I wanted the legs to meet in a magnetic clasp that would stay together even if pulled in one direction or the other. I also wanted a stash spot in the abdomen of the spider. I accomplished this by making a post that the top half of the sliding abdomen would snap into.
